Rehovot MITF Thanksgiving Dana Schwartz

Thanksgiving was a fun and eventful time for all involved. We were lucky enough to have been provided with a turkey and given the day off to prepare for a traditional thanksgiving meal. Myself and two other fellows, Alyssa and Lauren, began to prep and cook our turkey very early (around 7am). Turkey is perhaps the most laborious part of the meal, as it requires at least 6 hours of oven time. As the day progressed (and the turkey cooked) many fellows, including myself, made other traditional dishes. Some of these included mashed potatoes, broccoli, sweet potatoes, and much more. It was a little disappointing to not have certain thanksgiving staples, such as pumpkin and gravy, as these are not ready accessible in Israel. Nonetheless, we made the best with what we had and proceeded to enjoy a festive thanksgiving filled with friendship and cheer.
